Who we are
Established in 1803 and soon after becoming a charter member of the formation of the Saluda Baptist Association, RRBC has been an active presence of Gospel witness within the town of Iva for over 200 years. Today, we seek to continue this great legacy by growing in Christ, cherishing His Word, and by pursuing the lost.
Core Values
We want our church to be centered on what is most important - following Jesus and making disciples. Programs and events are not inherently bad, but they often weigh people down to the point of being detrimental to their faithfulness in all areas of life. If we are to be perceived as a healthy church, we want it to be because of our love for Christ and for each other. You will find that we keep things simple, and when a program or event does arise, it will exist to serve our efforts in making disciples of Jesus.
Intentionally Simple
We need each other! Through faith in Christ, believers have not been saved into isolation but have been united with the body of Christ. We seek to live in gospel community, helping one another to live faithful and fruitful lives for Christ.
Community
The Great Commission given by our Lord is simply to make disciples and to teach them all that he has commanded. While making disciples is our mission, discipleship is the process we all take part in as we seek to grow in our love and obedience to Christ Jesus.
Discipleship
God dictates how we are to worship him. Therefore, our Sunday morning corporate worship is not aimless, casual, or random. Worship is about glorifying God, which is ultimately why the Church exists. Just as our lives should be individually, when we gather we seek to worship in Spirit and in truth. Simply put, our worship ought to be about exalting and glorifying God, and should be shaped by his Word.
Worship
God’s Word from beginning to end is one of mission. Therefore, we seek to be a missional church. We seek to display the gospel through acts of mercy, proclaim the good news of the gospel, and support like-minded ministries who labor in our area and around the world.
